A true crafsman in the cellar working to craft wines that truly express his unique terroir. “My wines are a reflection of nature. I do not intervene artificially, neither in the vineyard nor in the cellar. Only after they have revealed themselves fully, they will become part of the family. So, our Maskerade wines capture a wonderful ephemeral moment. A snapshot in time, along a journey of discovery. Never to be experienced the same way again."

Tom Lubbe is a dear friend, making iconic beautiful white, red and orange wines and has carved an indelible niche for himself in the Côtes Catalanes.

Blossom 2019

60% Grenache Gris & 40% Macabeu

From a tiny (0.5-hectare!) parcel of vines surrounded by wild garrigue (scrubland). Sappy, lush and at just 10.5% this is far less fearsome than its name - ‘The Ram’ in English.

Mambo Sun 2019

70 % Grenache (Noir, Gris, Blanc) 30% Maccabeu

Whole cluster fermentation in closed tanks to avoid extraction (no need for punch down), pressed after 5 days of maceration and aged in concrete tanks before bottling after 6 months.

Grown on black marl soil with volcanic bedrock (Myrs Vineyard). Vines planted from 1950-1985.

Foot-crushed heavenly wines from Illmitz in Austria’s Burgenland

Christian Tschida ferments all of his wines in closed top tanks that sit outside in the shade in which the grapes are foot stomped. After this the juice is moved inside to barrel for aging. As of the 2015 vintage all of Christian’s wines are made without any additions of sulfur. The wines are never racked and everything is bottled by hand to preserve the freshness of the wine and leave a little residual carbon dioxide to aid preservation.

The Himmel Auf Erden wines: The grapes are hand harvested and destemmed. The juice ferments in large barrels with indigenous yeast. It spends 1 year aging in 500 to 1500 litre barrels and is bottled without fining or filtering. They all show fresh and racy characteristics with buoyant fruit making them very pleasing to sip quite quickly.
